Your 1099 CSV, IRIS-ready on the first upload.
Drop the CSV you built from the IRS template. IRIS CSV checks every cell against the IRS formatting rules for all 36 IRIS forms, fixes the mistakes that get files rejected, and splits big files into 250-record uploads. It runs in your browser, so your TINs never leave your computer.
- Runs 100% in your browser
- TINs never uploaded
- IRS TY2025 rules · 36 forms
- No sign-up
Drop your CSV. Get a file IRIS accepts.
Works with the official templates from the IRIS Taxpayer Portal ("Upload CSV with Form Data") and with spreadsheets you export from QuickBooks, Xero, Gusto or Excel.

or choose a file — .csv, .txt or .xlsx. Nothing is uploaded.
Turn any vendor list into an IRIS CSV
Upload a CSV or Excel export (one row per payee). Match the columns once, enter your payer details, and we build the IRIS template rows and check them.
What it catches and fixes
Every rule comes from the IRS Template Formatting Guidelines and the "Common reasons for CSV files being rejected" table in Publication 5717.
Spreadsheet damage
Excel turns TINs into 5.12E+08, drops the leading zero from ZIP 02110 and adds blank rows of commas. We restore what can be restored and flag what can't.
TIN formats
EINs must be XX-XXXXXXX and SSNs/ITINs XXX-XX-XXXX. We format them from the TIN Type and infer the type when it's blank.
Forbidden characters
Pub 5717: no periods or # in name and address lines. Accents become plain letters.
Money fields
$ signs, commas and $0.00 values are rejected. Zero must be blank.
Checkboxes & codes
Empty checkboxes need "N". States, countries and types get the exact codes.
Too-long fields
Address Line 1 is 35 characters max. We move "Apt 12" or "Suite 400" to Line 2 for you and flag names over 40 characters.
250-record limit
Big files are split into IRIS-sized CSVs, each with the header row.
How it works
Download the template
In the IRIS Taxpayer Portal, open "Upload CSV with Form Data" and download the template for your form and tax year. Fill it (or let us convert your spreadsheet).
Drop it here
We map the columns, check every cell against the IRS rules for that form, auto-fix the safe problems and list the ones that need you.
Upload the fixed file
Download the corrected CSV (or the split files) and upload it in IRIS. File-level errors gone; field-level errors caught before the IRS sees them.
Free IRS portal. Fewer rejections.
The IRIS Taxpayer Portal is free. What costs money is a CSV that keeps getting rejected — or paying an e-file service per form.

Questions
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and checked by JavaScript in your browser tab. TINs, names and amounts are never sent to our server. Only the payment confirmation (a Stripe checkout ID) touches our server when you buy Pro.
Does this file my 1099s?
No. IRIS CSV prepares and checks the CSV. You upload it yourself in the IRS IRIS Taxpayer Portal, which is free. You need an IRIS Transmitter Control Code (TCC) for the portal.
FIRE is retiring — do I need this?
If you filed through FIRE, you must move to IRIS before the 2027 filing season: FIRE takes its last files on November 19, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET and IRIS is the only e-file system after January 1, 2027. The portal's CSV upload is the free bulk option, and it is strict about formatting.
Which forms are supported?
All 36 forms with IRIS CSV templates for tax year 2025, including 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-R, 1099-K, 1099-B, 1099-S, 1098, 1098-T, 5498, W-2G, 3921, 3922 and 1042-S. The deepest checks are for the common 1099s.
Can it guarantee IRIS accepts my file?
No tool can, and we won't pretend. We check every rule the IRS publishes for the template, plus the common rejection causes in Publication 5717. The IRS can still reject data for reasons outside the file format, like a TIN that doesn't match its records.
What about tax year 2026?
You can select 2026 now. The IRS has not yet published TY2026 CSV guidelines; we apply the TY2025 rules and the new $2,000 1099-NEC threshold for warnings, and will update when the IRS releases the 2026 templates.
Do you have a Spanish version?
Yes — the whole tool works in Spanish at /es/.
